HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical FAQ

At MPE Services, LLC, we take pride in giving our clients peace of mind about the safety and functionality of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical utilities in their homes and places of business.

Here are some of our customers' most frequently asked questions!

HVAC Installation and Repair Services

  • Short answer: all of them.

Our experienced technicians rarely come across brands of equipment they don't already see in their daily HVAC service work. When you make a service call to us, we will always ask about the specific HVAC unit you need us for.

So don't sweat it—we can guarantee that we will find a solution for whatever AC system you have, even if it's unique.

  • "HVAC" is an acronym for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning: a system that maintains indoor air quality, heating, and cooling in homes and commercial buildings.

The components of your home's water plumbing system are separate from the air conditioning, filtering, and thermoregulating features within HVAC units. However, some modern HVAC units include hybrid heat pump systems to heat water and the indoor temperature in one unit.

  • Indoor air quality (IAQ) pertains to the health and safety properties of indoor air, more specifically, the level of pollution in the air flowing through indoor spaces.

Air filters in your HVAC unit work to prevent harmful pollutants, dust, and allergens from entering the indoor air you breathe. It's essential to make sure your unit has a clean filter.

Another more serious air contaminant is carbon monoxide. This toxic, odorless, invisible gas can be emitted into indoor air by any indoor heating appliance, such as a furnace or water heater. Since carbon monoxide gas flies under the radar so quickly, a carbon monoxide detector is essential in every indoor space to prevent severe illness and fatal poisoning.

  • The root cause is typically a frozen evaporator coil in your air conditioner inside of the condenser unit. Still, other reasons could include a defective fan, damaged ductwork, or a clogged air filter—all of which our technicians can quickly repair.

  • If energy efficiency within your heating and cooling systems is your priority, a heat pump is a way to go.

  • As your HVAC unit works to regulate temperature and airflow throughout your home or commercial building, it's bound to make some noise. If it becomes deafening or something sounds out of the ordinary, there's no harm in giving us a call so we can take a quick look.

  • Regularly schedule service with an HVAC expert for routine maintenance and inspection, but if something stops working or behaving unusually, call us ASAP for our emergency service.

We can get to the bottom of your HVAC unit issue immediately and get it back to safe, normal operation.

  • The cost varies depending on the size of your systems and the buildings they service. Contact our knowledgeable staff for a flat rate quote with no overtime charges!

  • You need to schedule regular maintenance and an updated inspection of your HVAC system at least twice a year after installation to keep the machine running in addition to repair services.

Usually, an HVAC technician should inspect your cooling system in the spring and the heating system in the fall.

Plumbing Services

  • MPE provides plumbing services of all types, including drain unclogging, leak repair, and installation of a new toilet, sink, or tub. We can work on any of your property's pipes and ensure they are running correctly.

  • We do! Our plumbers take care of all your plumbing systems' needs, from maintenance tasks to emergency repairs, protecting your home or business from expensive water damage and unresolved plumbing issues.

From maintenance tasks to emergency repairs, our plumbers are here for you and will help protect your home or workplace from costly water damage caused by unresolved plumbing problems. We can also perform preventive maintenance to find and resolve issues before they become problems.

  • Increasing water bill costs can vary depending on the situation, but hidden leakage in the plumbing system is often the culprit.

Call us about a leak detection solution that solves many suspiciously high water bills.

  • If it’s on your end and/or you have a septic tank, the cause of low water pressure in your plumbing system could be a clog or leak, and that's something we can find and fix for you.

However, if your plumbing is connected to a municipal sewer system—and not a septic tank—that's beyond your reach. To see if someone from your city knows what's causing the issue, you can reach out to your local water works department.

  • Your hot water heater can work for up to ten years following initial installation. If your hot water heater is showing signs of failure at any time, give us a call as soon as possible.

  • A slow or clogged drain can be a sign of a greater issue within your plumbing system. If you've noticed issues like this with your drain, it's time to give us a service call now so we can prevent damage and more expensive pumping costs down the road.

Electrical Maintenance and Repair Services

  • If you have high utility bills, you could have outdated light fixtures. Switch to LED lighting if you're interested in cost-efficient lighting upgrades which use less energy!

We specialize in LED lighting retrofits, which not only provide cost benefits, but also allows you to enjoy an improved aesthetic in your home or business.

With upgraded LED lighting in your business, your employees will be able to see better to stay more focused, productive, accurate, and at decreased risk of getting injured in a workplace accident.

The impact that indoor lighting has on our mood and productivity is greater than most of us notice, which is why it's crucial to install the right kind of lights.

  • Our electricians are equipped for your entire property's lighting needs, both indoor and outdoor!

We do more than repair: Ask about regular maintenance (to keep your electrical system safe and up-to-date) or light fixture installation!

  • When you have a tripped breaker, all you need to do is turn it all the way off before switching it back on.
